Goodmans Healthcare Environments and Medcare Products, together provide a Safe Patient Handling Program customized for your healthcare facility needs. This program, The Zero Back Injury System (ZBI) is a free Injury Prevention and Reduction solution with any equipment purchase.
Medcare's Zero Back Injury System, otherwise known as ZBI, was created to assist facilities in implementing and promoting no-lift policies in LTC facilities and hospitals, thus creating safer work environments for caregivers/staff as well as safer living conditions for residents or patients while in the healthcare facility.
The training that Goodmans Healthcare Environments provides is essential to reducing injuries. Once the equipment is in place, we are physically present to train your staff on proper lifting, transferring and positioning techniques and establish policies to make sure that these techniques are followed.
On a quarterly basis, your Goodmans Safe Patient Handling Specialist will return to:
- Retrain new staff
- Survey staff and residents
- Review results
- Make suggestions for the continued success of the system.
The most important step in implementing a No-Lift solution is that management supports and promotes the policy. We will assist you in educating your staff on the importance and benefits of a No Lift policy. We will also help you implement accountability measures and reward systems to insure success in achieving the established goals.
